Walmart Fulfillment Services has no monthly storage fee (vs FBA) but charges $1/unit inbound. WFS is newer with less competition, but slower processing and fewer warehouses. Great for products that move — bad for slow inventory.
Walmart Marketplace is invite/application-only. Speed it up: have a clean Amazon store, real business address, and W-9 ready. List 5-10 products on day one — empty stores get flagged. A live Shopify store with traffic helps approval odds.
Walmart takes 15% referral on most categories — same as Amazon. But Walmart has no monthly subscription fee ($0 vs Amazon $39.99). The catch: lower volume and stricter price parity. You make it up on volume if you win the Buy Box.
Walmart requires your price to match or beat your Amazon price. If Amazon is cheaper, Walmart suppresses your listing. Monitor both platforms daily — a $0.50 Amazon sale or coupon can silently kill your Walmart visibility.
